| P.A.W.S., Protection of Animals Welfare
Society is a charitable non-governmental organisation in Mauritius.
It was founded in July 1999 by a small group of animal lovers
who were very troubled by the terrible condition of domestic
and stray dogs and cats on the island. They were also distressed
by the population's ignorance in matters of pet care, and the
lack of aid provided when they did seek help. |

- We want to make Mauritius a better place for animals,
and we believe that the best way to achieve this is through
free sterilisation and education.
- PAWS is a member of W.S.P.A. (World Society for the Protection
of Animals) and is affiliated to MACOSS (Mauritius Council
of Social Services).
- We also work in close collaboration with the Marchig Animal
Welfare Trust and International Animal Rescue.
