Our main aim at PAWS is to make Mauritius
a better place for animals. We feel the best way
to achieve this is by educating the children of Mauritius.
When we visit schools we:
- explain to the children that animals have basic needs,
such as food and water, shelter, exercise and health care.
- talk about the benefits of sterilisation.
- explain to the children that it is our responsibility
as owners, to meet our animals' needs.
- encourage the children to ask questions, and to talk about
their own pets.
- make the whole thing fun, and that way, the children remember
our message.
We give similar talks to adults in English, French and Creole.
If you know of a school, or group who is interested in our
Pet Care Programme, please contact the PAWS office.
