You can adopt a dog or cat from Mauritius and bring them home to your country.

Note that this can be an expensive procedure. It is also best to start procedures ASAP while you are still in Mauritius. There is a minimum period of 21 days to wait for the dog or cat to fly because of the rabies vaccine.
Many rescue dogs have found loving homes overseas. They adapt really well as long as they’re given plenty of love, care and a little patience to adjust to their new surrounding.
