An emotional, fun-filled visit for those who love dogs and cats!
Do you live in Mauritius or on holidays, visiting the island?
We’d love to welcome you at our shelters and show you the work we do.
Both our shelters are open to visitors from Monday to Saturday from 9am to 4pm (except Public holidays). The visit is free but you can make a donation of your choice at reception to support our work.
PAWS South, Union Vale
Five minutes away from the airport, our shelter in Union Vale is in Allée Coco, lined up with massive coconut trees, surrounded by sugar cane fields where our adult dogs take their afternoon walk.
The shelter is home to some 100 dogs and puppies, and about 30 cats and kittens. About 20 dogs are free roaming in the shelter and will welcome you in.
If you are a fan of kittens, this shelter has a special kitty room where you can sit and play with those adorable furry balls as well as an outdoor cattery with bigger cats.
PAWS Mon Loisir, Rivière du Rempart
Situated in the north-east of Mauritius, our shelter in Mon Loisir has wide open spaces, flamboyant trees and filaos which you can spot at the end of the sugar cane road. It is home to about 80 dogs and a dozen kittens.
Come play with our dogs and fill your hearts with furry cuddles!
Please note that young children should always be accompanied by an adult.
If you’d like to go inside the kennels to play with pups or dogs, we recommend putting on comfortable shoes and clothes and don’t mind getting a little dirty!
You can also bring treats and toys for our dogs and cats. Just make sure to check with our animal welfare team that these are OK to give.
Easily accessible by car. Also accessible by bus and a short walk.
